ABOUT US
Vision + Mission + Objectives
The Center of Excellence for Resilience of Industrial & Energy Infrastructure (CERISE) is a research center at Rice University that focuses on coastal resilience in the oil & gas, chemical and petrochemical industries exposed to hurricane & flood events or the effects of a changing climate.
CERISE aims to address particular challenges facing coastal industrial infrastructures, including protection from severe storms, response and recovery from such extreme events, and adaptation to chronic stressors such as climate impacts or infrastructure deterioration.
The expertise and ongoing work across Rice University’s campus, the proximity to the Gulf Coast, and relations within the industry puts the center in a unique position to impact the oil and gas and petrochemical industries locally and globally. Through this process, CERISE research aims to create a blueprint for resilient industry infrastructure, worldwide.
